video of flight for l2 certification

try, try again

Continuing to build on my rocketry adventures, I received my Level 2 certification in High Power Rocketry from the Tripoli Rocketry Association. Similar to Level 1 certification, I had to build, fly, and recover a high power rocket - this time, with even more "power" than the last. There was also an exam I had to take to show proficiency in knowledge about flying rockets safely. I spent over a year working on my L2 certification, as I had made two failed attempts prior to this successful one. I gained many insights on how to build safe and sturdy rockets, and my failures were really an opportunity for me to grow. Achieving L2 certification also gave me the confidence to introduce more people to rocketry through mentoring them in achieving their L1 certification. I can't wait to build even more rockets in the near future!

new resonance

This quarter, I participated in Recital Choir. This is an ensemble at UW where choral conducting students rehearse the group and conduct the group for their conducting recital. Although I have been involved in many music groups for a long time, I have very little experience being in choirs. The last time I had been in a choir before this was during middle school. I was definitely intimidated at first, but I was able to bring in a lot of skills from my other musical background which helped me be successful. I developed my singing skills as well as my knowledge about how choral groups functioned in contrast to orchestras. While I don't have enough space in my undergrad class schedule to continue participating in choirs, this was very enjoyable for me; hopefully I'll find opportunities to be involved in choirs in the future!
